Below are the key GP principles by Gabriela Peacock - 8 important factors to consider when planning meals and navigating your journey to healthy, balanced eating whether or not you're following an Intermittent Fasting programme.
- Eat a portion of protein with every meal, including snacks.
- Choose carbohydrates that are high in fibre with a lower GI.
- Include a variety of healthy fats, with a focus on essential fatty acids (mindful days).
- Keep fluid levels topped up regularly throughout the day.
- Try to avoid drinking caffeine on an empty stomach.
- Increase the diversity of phytonutrients with a rainbow diet.
- Maintain blood sugar balance by eating when peckish, and not starving.
- Avoid skipping meals and include balanced snacks (mindful days).
