16:8 Diet

16:8 Diet- What is it? And Why We Love It!

Intermittent fasting is a cyclical calorie intake routine that alternates between periods of no food intake (a.k.a. fasting) and periods of calorie consumption (any other time outside the fasting period) We've used this popular dieting trend to support our bestselling Bikini Me kit so you can achieve amazing weight loss in just 7-days.

The most popular way of fasting is the 16 : 8 diet method, when you fast for 16 hours and only eat in an 8-hour window. There are other fasting techniques, like when people skip eating a day or two during the week and only drink. There are also more extreme versions, however this is the simplest and typically most effective route for beginners.

Fasting has been scientifically proven to be a useful tool for lose weight, if for no other reason, because you naturally eat less if you restrict your consumption for fewer hours a day. This will also give your body time to repair, since it's not preoccupied with the digestion and storage of food.

The 16:8 diet is a major trend loved by celebs and health experts. Jennifer Aniston recently said in an interview “I do intermittent fasting, so no food in the morning. I noticed a big difference in going without solid food for 16 hours”

In addition to weight loss the 16:8 diet helps control blood sugar levels and boost brain function. For best results we recommend following a nutritious diet during the eight-hour window, to ensure any positive effects are not quickly negated. In other words, 16 hours of fasting doesn’t compensate for eight hours of stuffing your face with junk food.

For the best results, you should be careful about your choice of eating window. According to experts, it should start early in the day, preferably no later than about 10 a.m., and finish early in the evening. This allows for the energy you consume during your eating window to serve your activities throughout the day, plus it’s in line with our natural circadian rhythms, presuming you wake up around 6 a.m. to 9 a.m. If you choose a much later eating window, say 4 p.m. to 12 a.m, you could actually see weight gain.

We know fasting can be daunting which is why we've combined it with our bestselling Bikini Me kit. Our Slim Me drinks + multinutrients can help keep you going during the fast and fill you up. A lot of our loyal customers communicated that they didn't see big results from our Bikini Me kit. This why we've changed the programme to revolutionise weight loss and allow for maximum results. We can't wait to hear your feedback!
